During my silent dawn walks, I would often notice and record the incidental and
sometimes see within them a narrative inspiration for a poem, video or tableau.

THE RAGGED BEAUTY OF THE DYING
Every day I passed a plastic sheet caught on a telegraph wire and recorded it slowly fall apart over several months. On some sunny days with a gentle breeze I would stand transfixed by its beauty, its liquid diaphanous movements quite hypnotic. There was a beautiful and imperfect melancholy to it, not unlike Japanese Wabi-Sabi (侘寂) or Hanami (watching falling blossom).

FINAL MARK
I was in the deserted Bristol Centre at dawn the day after Edward Colston's statue was thrown in the docks, I was able to photograph the many placards left around the plinth as well as recording the marks of the dragged statue. Both vanished soon after.
SKY SNAKE
During lockdown the skies were almost empty. I filmed this lone aircraft coming over Bristol, its vapour trail looking like a peculiar slow moving serpent
LEAF MOTH
This leaf caught in a spider's web gives the peculiar illusuion of being a moth.
